Why We Showcase Student Artwork

We celebrate a diversity of student-artists from different parts of Connecticut to help young children see themselves represented and acknowledged in the art world.

  • Ensures diverse artist representation for young students to connect with
  • Provides student-artists a necessary exhibition space
  • Challenges traditional museum models and encourages the recognition of children and adolescents’ material culture
  • Establishes a pipeline for older and younger generations to exchange through art

Introducing our students to these high school student-artists is transformative and powerful to achieving and teaching about equity.”

We showcase juried art exhibitions of middle and high school student art.

When will you accept submissions for the next show?

Our annual Call for Art goes live in April. Join our mailing list to be the first to know!

What are the requirements to be featured in the exhibition?

Our jury reviews all submitted student art thoroughly. We ask they consider the diversity of student-artists represented, as well as the mastery of individual works, their relation to the annual theme and call for art, and relevance to young students.

Why don't you show art by the masters?

Showing student art ensures diverse artist representation for young students to connect with, provides student-artists necessary exhibition space, challenges traditional museum models, encourages the recognition of child/adolescent material culture, and establishes a pipeline for older and younger generations to exchange through art.
