EXHIBITION

Introducing cARTie

Our first-ever juried student art exhibition stands as a testament to the value of picking up a pencil, a piece of paper, a stash of paints, a roll of film, a ball of clay, and so forth.

About the Exhibition

To inaugurate cARTie and our model of exhibiting student art, we invited students across Connecticut to submit works of art they would like to one day share with young students.

  • Students used media ranging from sharpie to spray paint.
  • Students came from towns across the State: Berlin, Bridgeport, New Fairfield, Norwalk, Thomaston, Ridgefield, and Wamogo.
  • As part of their submission process, student-artists reflected on their own early art museum memories.
  • Student-artists universally shared an interest in reaching young students with their art.

Theme selected by cARTie's founding Board of Directors.cARTie's 2020 Jurying Committee included: Adrianne Carter-Brown, Emily Clark, Michael Gallagher, Holly Hawthorn, Cal Inguanti, Clare Murray, and Tish Murray

We know students want opportunities to show their art, and really - what better way than for an audience of young students ready to learn and grow!"
