we've been thinking about all that cARTie stands for, especially with regards to children's rights to museums.

In so many areas of the world, and in and across our State, children do not have access to the arts nor museum education. That is why cARTie was founded; to ensure all children and youth benefit from powerful and prolonged early art museum education.

As per the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, children are entitled to fully participate in the arts and culture. UNESCO promotes this and asks that all museums be accessible, educational, and engaging for children. In our work, we go even further, doing all we can to ensure that children build agency and ownership in our museum space. This means we need to affirm some very core tenets.

In this cARTie @ home blog, we want to share what we believe to be true regarding children's rights to museums. We hope this sparks conversation and making in your home, and we cannot wait to hear what additional rights and notes you'd add. As with all things cARTie, this is a living, breathing, and ever-evolving document, made better with your involvement.
